Serve

We serve on Sundays, Wednesdays, or during outreach and mission opportunities

Care Ministry:

Once a month, serve with one other Care Ministries team member to meet with individuals from the community who have requested critical financial assistance (Tuesday or Thursday mornings). Discern spiritual and physical needs and help to meet those needs through the sharing of Jesus and the distribution of funds/food within the established guidelines. Serve in the Community of Hope Food Bank as a prayer counselor for the hour immediately following their appointed morning in Care Ministries. For more information, contact Ron Fowler.

Food Services Ministry:

At the direction of the director, assistant director, and/or team captain, prepare and serve meals. Clean the kitchen after each function. The director maintains stock and supplies and is responsible for the general care of the kitchen.

*Only trained First Baptist members 16+ years and adult nonmembers may prepare food, operate cooking equipment and operate dishwasher under the supervision of a trained adult First Baptist member. For more information, contact Ron Fowler.

Greeters:

If you can smile and be excited to see people come to worship the Lord, then you can be a greeter. Greeters are strategically placed around campus to welcome guests, hold doors, or point people in the right direction. Greeters serve on a monthly rotation and on average serve 3-4 months each year. Serving as a Greeter does not require you to miss the worship service. For more information contact Ashley Huneycutt.

Hospitality:

We want our guests to feel at home and desire to be a part of our family. The hospitality team is located in the lobby on Sunday mornings to answer any questions, collect contact information, and send our guests off with a gift. The hospitality team is on a rotation and changes weekly. Serving with the Hospitality team does not require you to miss the worship service.  For more information contact Ashley Huneycutt.

Kids Ministry and Kids Preschool:

In the Kids or Preschool Ministry you will lead or assist with a certain age group of children. The goal is to provide a safe and loving environment where the children learn age appropriate lessons about Jesus.

Media Team:

We need volunteers for Sunday morning tech and stream team.  On-camera and sound techs are needed and training is provided.  If you're interested, please contact Josh Ryals.

Safety Team:

Our Safety team is here to create a safe and secure environment for members and guests during all on-campus church events. If you have experience in the medical field, EMS, fire, LEO/Mil or a background that would be an asset to the team, this may be your place to serve. Safety team members serve on a monthly rotation. This team could require you to be out of the worship service when you are serving. For more information, contact Ashley Huneycutt.

Security Lock-Up:

If you want to serve, but do not like to be out front, then this is the team for you. Do not be fooled by the name, this is not the Safety Team, but the team that keeps us secured. The Security Lock-Up team walks the campus after service to make sure exterior doors are locked, windows closed, and all lights are turned off. Team members serve on a monthly rotation and serve multiple months a year. Serving as a Security Lock-up team member does not require you to miss the worship service. For more information contact Ashley Huneycutt.

Sending Team:

Receive Gospel partnership requests from First Baptist Church members and teams. Prayerfully consider First Baptist Church’s support through prayer and/or finances for each request. Administrate affirmed financial support. Encourage churchwide prayer for First Baptist Garner’s gospel partners. For more information, contact Ron Fowler.

Usher:

The Ushers’ role is to greet and be hospitable, but their ministry does not end there. Ushers serve at the entrance of the worship center lobby, balcony, and occasionally in the worship center. Ushers help guests and members find seats, hand out applicable materials, and assist where needed. Ushers serve on a monthly rotation and serve 3-4 months each year. Ushers are asked to sit in the lobby 1 time during their month of serving to help guests who may come in late or assist someone in the lobby once service has started. For more information contact Ashley Huneycutt.
