Care Ministries

Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.  Galatians 2:10 (ESV)

Why We Care

FBC Garner desires to serve God and the Garner community by sharing the gospel and providing financial assistance in times of crisis.  Care Partners meet with those that request assistance, discern spiritual and physical needs, and help meet those needs through the sharing of Jesus and the distribution of funds within the established guidelines.

For those in need of financial assistance:

Those requesting financial assistance may call the church office each Monday beginning at 8:30am to make an appointment with Care Ministries. Appointments are scheduled by calling 919-772-1772 ext. 202. Please leave one message with your name, phone number, zip code and financial need. Phone calls will be returned according to the time stamp on the voicemail and appointments will be given to the first four eligible people. Appointments will be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday of the same week. If you do not receive a return phone call, we have filled our appointments for the week and you will need to call back the next Monday morning.

To be eligible for an appointment an applicant must currently reside in Garner (27529) and portions of the Raleigh (27603) area.

Individuals must be able to provide documentation of an overdue utility bill, an eviction notice, or a letter from a landlord/property manager warning of an impending eviction. We do not provide funding for gasoline, hotels, or utility/rental deposits.

Eligible applicants are able to receive assistance once per 12 month period with a total of two visits.

If you receive a pledge letter during an appointment with us and need to call to redeem your pledge please call and leave a message at ext. 202.

Everyone is welcome to come to the Community of Hope Ministries Food Pantry.

Food Pantry Hours of Operations for Clients:
Tuesdays and Thursdays – 11:00am-12:00pm
3rd Thursday of every month – 6:00-7:00pm

Our goal is to offer families in need a seven day supply of food for each person in the household.  Each family receives counseling, and then is able to pick fresh food items for their family.  We will also supply families with a bag of shelf stable food.  Families are eligible to come once a month to the food pantry.  We also offer something that is infinitely more valuable, the Bread of Life through Jesus Christ!

We do not make appointments; clients may walk-in during our operating hours. Clients must bring a photo ID with them when coming to the food pantry for assistance.

Thank you!
